Pet safe paints

Post by munkeymajik » Mon Jun 18, 2018 9:45 pm

My Libertab Explorer has some rust and flaking paint on the trays and needs re-coating. I've had a search through other posts and rustoleium has been mentioned several times and seems liken a good option. There have been a few mentions of people using Hammerite. While this would be an ideal hard wearing finish in a couple of coats I'm a little bit wary of using it. I used to work as a welders mate and this stuff is pretty harsh until it's properly cured, which can take up to a week depending on temp and humidity.
I just wanted to throw this out there and see what other people's experiences of using it a

I have used hammerite, but did leave it out in the rain to cure for a while. There's also child safe paints like japlac and plasikote.

Agree with Hammerite for metal but it does need to be left in the rain.
