green beans/brussel sprouts
green beans/brussel sprouts
I've read different opinions on these veggies, can you feed them raw?

As far as I'm aware;
Green beans are fine. I feed mine straight out the freezer.
Brussel sprouts I've heard must be cooked, but there is conflicting info, so personally I avoid as when I eat sprouts I keep them quite chrunchy and I do end up wondering how cooked is cooked for rats!

Re: green beans/brussel sprouts
I feed both raw, my rats always get my sprout peelings.
Re: green beans/brussel sprouts
Please forgive me for being blunt but don't your rats have stomach issues later? Don't they fart too much? I was so eager to feed mine with brussel sprouts peels but I once did and the diarrhea was overwhelming. I always blamed myself and thought that it was my fault for feeding them this cabbage spawn. Is it possible that it was something else (I couldn't get a hold of my vet and the next morning everything was fine) and just an awful coincidence on my part?
