Re: Diarrhea - re: feeding

Any dairy products would be worth avoiding. And too much fresh veg in one go. Little bits are good, especially cucumber and watermelon as these will keep her hydrated :)

Baytril dosage

Hi all,

Can one of you clever rattie people tell me what dosage of baytril to give to a 250g female rat. Its the usual concentration, I think 0.2? Will check that later.

Also I have a stock of baytril but its was given in April. Will this still be usable?

Ta muchly!

Re: JJ pts appt tomorrow - what about Hachi?

Poor JJ and Hachi. Just want to give them huge cuddles :hearts: whatever you decide isn't going to be a 'wrong' decision. You are doing what is best for your boys. But if you feel Hachi could have a little while left, perhaps there are other options? Adopting another old man to keep him company? Or ...

Go to Cambridge vet group in cherry Hinton. They have an exotics specialist (can't remember her name) but they will be able to book you in with her hopefully :)

Re: Update on Scrappy the Wildie Baby ETA Tooth Problem

If the jaw is misaligned could that be result of being dislocated/broken by a predator before you found him? Just a thought :/

Re: Over use of antibiotics and Facebook

I get slightly frustrated when I KNOW what is wrong I.e myco flare up, and having to pay for a vet to tell me what I already know but I do think it is good to not get many medicines over the counter as it would encourage people to self diagnose and maybe make mistakes etc etc,

Re: Scab on head

I think scabs are generally larger than the original injury as any injured or torn skin around the wound would die and get replaced, creating a scab. I'd keep an eye on it and as long as it doesn't get any bigger/look infected I'd leave it be :)

Re: Juniper's ill, would really appreciate some help :(

No one can tell you how to feel after something like this happens. My last girl passed away in her cage and i wasn't with her and i felt awful, but she past away at home, surrounded by her cage mates, in a place she was happy and loved. Try and think about that, although i know its hard. As for what...
