Re: Foster homes offered in the South East of England and Lo

I live in Crawley, West Sussex and I am looking to foster 1-2 female rats to keep my old girl company for the rest of her days. I lost one of my dear girls this morning.

Baytril Combination

Hi all, One of my girls Delilah has reached the tender age of 27 months and she is starting to show the dreaded signs of a respiratory infection. My vet gave me a rather large supply of Baytril not too long ago as she occasionally had the poryphin around her nose, I was told to just keep her on this...

Re: Baytril and...?

Marilyn went back to the vets this morning, and the vet confirmed she didnt look too good. I mentioned the doxycycline but he said it comes in tablet form? So would be hard to work out the dosage! He is ordering another antibiotic for me which apparently is normally used for small children, its call...

Re: Baytril and...?

Right ok, well the vet was concerned about her chest although to me her breathing isnt noisy. The vets are open today but they are fully booked and they dont issue medication unless theyve seen the animal (even though they saw her on tuesday - stupid!). How much of the ibuprofen can I give her? Im a...

Re: Baytril and...?

Im actually a bit worried that it's too late for her to get any better? Or would the Baytril keep any serious infections at bay??

Re: Baytril and...?

She is alot more withdrawn compared to the other 2 rats, a bit slow on her feet, she sneezes occasionally and the vet did say her chest sounded slightly rumbly :(

Baytril and...?

Hi all, Marilyn, my 16 month old dumbo girl has been a bit poorly this past week. She started off getting the myco discharge round her eyes, but because she was still very perky and eating I left it a little while to see how she got on. On Monday last week however, I noticed she was more quiet than ...

Re: Concerns about elderly girl

I would definitley get her on the baytril and doxy combination. My favourite girl Baby (i know you shouldnt have favourites but you do!) passed away last year at about 27 months old. She began to get very lethargic which I put down to her old age, then within a matter of days she puffed up, had myco...

Re: Types of Tumour

sorry for your loss -RIP little one tumours can affect nerves whicjh can cause paralysis -you can get cancers in organs -blood -and bones-in fact almost anywhere. from the sound of what happened to her legs then I think your vet was right -you do get hind limb degeneration but this is usually a gra...

Types of Tumour

Hi everyone, This evening has been very emotional :( Eva my 1 year old fancy was PTS. She was taken to the vets on monday because she had broken her femur bone somehow. She was still very active and happy so the vet and I decided to see how she got on. Today however, I got home from work after being...

Re: Another injured leg!

The vet said the only real reason to amputate now would be for the convenience for Eva, so her leg would no longer get in her way and there would be less risk of her getting it caught again. There is no swelling or sign of infection. I went to B&Q today however I managed to get some cheap lino tiles...
