Rat breeders in Scotland (Highlands or Aberdeenshire)

Can anyone recommend a breeder in Scotland, ideally in the Highlands or Aberdeenshire? I've scoured the net for breeders but they're all too far away - I'm 5 hours from Glasgow and just cannot find that amount of time to travel at the moment, much as I love my rat. I can't find rescue rats anywhere ...

Lone rat - is introducing another pair a good idea?

I adopted two rats in July 2014, they were a year old at the time. Unfortunately one of them passed away on Monday after a battle with a mammary tumour :( My concern now is obviously for my remaining rat. Problem wasn't with the op, more that she couldn't leave the stitches alone and we were looking at a third op in three days to stitch her back up again. Big tumour big wound.... We made the decision to let her go as we kinda ...

Re: Advice regarding mammary tumour on 2 year old female

Thanks so much to everyone for your responses! Caza66 - yes, one of the vets at the surgery has operated on small animals many times before so I'm confident she knows what she's doing. That's great that your 34 month old had an extra 5 months after the op, it serves as a reminder to me that age shou...

Advice regarding mammary tumour on 2 year old female

Hi there, I'm new to the forum and I'm hoping to get some advice regarding what to do about my rats tumour! She's 2 and has been in perfect health until now. The tumour sprung up very quickly and is now approx 5cm and seems to be staying that size although she hasn't had it long. It's a mammary tumo...
