Re: How to build op the group

Ok thank you.
Should the new rats have a minimum weight for the intro? Now that all of them are still young?

I know when having adult rats and introducing new young rats, the young rats should weigh 100gr minimum.

Re: feeding + supplementing

My 2 boys are terrible about eating fresh meals with DR3. I ordered the liquid calcivet and daily essentials to put in the water. Also ordered the wet foods from RR. Hope they like that. How much should i use from the calcivet (in ml and how much drops is that?)and DE (in grams and how much of the m...

Re: Dog vaccination and rats

Oooow.... that is difficult. My rats are in the living room and i don't have a room available for them and their cage for a couple weeks....... not enough space and /or too cold.
I will ask my vet what vaccins he will be getting....not sure yet.

Should i really seperate them for weeks?

My dog needs his vaccination soon, are there any problems with the vaccination and my rats? Any risks for them fromany of the possible vaccins my dog will get?
Or is it safe to vaccinate my dog and have him in the same room with my rats afterwards?

Re: How to build op the group

Rats do do better in groups of 3 or more for that very reason - I would get another 8 week old now (can you get a sibling from the same place?), and then add 2 more in a year's time, and then again once your numbers drop to 3. Your group will therefore fluctuate between 3 and 5, but most of the tim...

Re: How to build op the group

Yeah the hormonal stage.... i think it is adding two now, or wait for a year.
They are playing and sleeping together, but one of them is just more active and wants to play when the other one is lazy.
