Re: Phytopet Calm - has anybody used this?

She just seems to be a highly strung rat rather than aggressive now. Like things tick her off. I'll try it and see if anything happens, I can't really spay her again!

Phytopet Calm - has anybody used this?

As per the title really. Was interested to see if anyone had experience with Phytopet calm ad if it made a difference to the animal's behaviour? I have a rather highly strung little variegated rat. Melody was spayed at around 6-7 months for aggression towards people. She was also rather highly strun...

Re: Discussions relating to Hantavirus

I will not consider being tested until anonymous testing is available. This would be purely to add to data. I wouldn't want to have my pets under threat because of this.

Re: Does fur grow back after a cut?

From what ive seen it mostly does, though i have a girl where a patch of fur hasnt griwn back after being bitten as a baby. The fur around will grow over and make it unnoticeable even if it doesnt grow throw the scar tissue!

Re: Noises My Rats Make

I agree that you should try another vet as that definitely isn't a noise rats should make :(

I adopted one of my girls from a pet shop and she made that same squeaky cough/sneeze noise. It took 3 weeks of antibiotics to get the little baby right :(

Re: older doe not eating, extreme weight loss

My Pearl had very similar symptoms to your girl and i believe she had heart failure after a very bad resp infection. My vet refused to give me heart meds for her and I fought for them, insisting that we needed to try (they wanted to do an x ray to diagnose, but there was no way Pearl would have made...

Re: Can't Work Out the Issue with Blossom?

Thanks Alison, she keeps going through phases of looking really unhappy and them looking extremely perky. The past couple of days she's been fine so I really can't work out what's up :? Unfortunately, the vet I go to is supposed to be one of the best in the area and is the vet that others will refer...

Sorry to hear that you've found him like this but there may not be much you can do other than keep him warm and comfortable :(

Can't Work Out the Issue with Blossom?

I'm struggling to work out what's wrong with Blossom. She'd been on a course of zithromax for a slight resp infection from 22nd November and the sneezing seems to have eased but she still doesn't seem right. Her odd symptoms include the following: *porphyrin around her eyes (she gets this often due ...

Re: lump on spayed girl

Spaying makes the occurrence of mammary lumps less likely, but is not a prevention unfortunately. There are many different factors that cause lumps, spaying just removes the most common cause of mammary lumps (oestrogen and prolactin).

Zithromax cleared up my girls great when a few had some bad resp infections. Do I think it's a good one to go with.

Re: Sarah's Rat Accessories

Brilliant items at great prices and with excellent service. My girls love Sarah's stuff and will always go for those items out of anything else in the cage! Their favourite is the double hammock and will rarely chew them. If they do customise their beds, they still last many uses and washes after th...
