Re: Fancy-Rats IRC?

Yeah, with proper moderation and bots to weed out spammers and swearing, it's just like the forums, only quicker :)

Fancy-Rats IRC?

Not sure if this has been suggested, but I'd personally like to have an IRC so I could chat "live" with ratty fans. It'd be better for emergency situations too as people would see someone in distress right away. The only problem would be moderating. You need more on an IRC because you need to make s...

Re: Seizures ETA: Ultrasonic Cat Repellant?

Then your only choice is to contact the council. Complain that it is a nuisance that is harming your animals and maybe stopping you sleeping if they don't care for rats. Explain that you tried to ask her nicely but she refuses to cooperate. I'm sure there'll be a rule against it somewhere.

Re: Seizures ETA: Ultrasonic Cat Repellant?

Those cat repellants drive ME crazy! I often want to go around to the house that has them and smash it in with a baseball bat because every time I walk past them it affects my balance and sends my brain all funny. Perhaps you should kindly ask your neighbour to face it away from the footpath so that...

Weight or Scoops for Measurements?

I'm just wondering which is the better form of measurement. I personally use weight because it's easier to order from rat rations, but I know others use scoops. Does it make a difference?

Re: RIPPED TAIL

my poor baby ): now i know yes indeed ... and it shouldnt have happened in the first place because we were in the same place as the animals and secondly the dog and cook are friends; they usually cuddle together and what not so i found it kind of - out of character - for the dog to have done someth...

Re: RIPPED TAIL

I suppose you don't need telling, but this is why rats and other animals should never be let in the same room unsupervised, especially if free-ranging. It's an unfortunate incident, but she should be alright. I would keep the plaster on unless you can change the dressing. In which case clean and cha...

Re: The worst day ever....

You say he cut his claw too short to get a sample. Was it intentional or something that happened during nail clipping that gave him an idea? I'm interested because that's quite a unique, but I suppose practical way of taking blood samples from such a small animal.

Off-topic, but my booyfriend let me try one of those because I asked why he never uses it. It felt like I was inhaling knives! It was so gross DX

Re: Yet more questions about resp issues...

The finacard site itself does a fantastic deal. The owner is a member on here, so you could PM him to ask for a free sample. If you order from RatRations though, you can buy from there to fill up the "dead weight" on your delivery charges. If delivery costs £6.00 for 1-4kg and you only order 2kg, yo...

Re: Yet more questions about resp issues...

I use finacard and the paper pellets and bedding they provide too. It's a huge hit with my girls who used to sniffle and chirp until I got them off Carefresh. They love the big chunks that are in the bale too!

They're quite small right now. Barely half the size of an adult. I'll be sure to reduce the pasta intake next time :)

Is my mix okay for my girls?

I made up a shunamite-type diet loosely based on Stovokor's recipe. It consists of the following: 50% Harrisons Banana Bunny Brunch 20% Museli and Rice Snaps 10% Burn's Dry Dog Food (Chicken & Brown Rice) 10% Fusilli twist pasta (Tricoloured) 10% Wild bird seed My next batch will probably ditch bird...
