Re: How to disguise meds

Thanks for all your suggestions. Treats on fingers, treats on spoons, treats in dishes, stuff they normally gobble down cos its the best thing ever are now obviously evil. I've had to resort to syringing it into really stressed poorly old lady, at least the stress doesn't last too long for her and I...

Re: How to disguise meds

Hi Beri,

I use a 2ml plain blood tube to make sure all the solid stuff is thoroughly and evenly suspended before drawing the suspension up into an insulin syringe.

Re: How to disguise meds

Hi Tried the getting everybody out for a run around last night, put squeak back in the cage first, with her meds in the gravy from cat food(usually irresistible). She sniffed at gravy and went to bed!! I usually feed after they've been out, so my thinking was that she would think this is normal. I h...

Re: How to disguise meds

Ok Beri, sorry for the confusion. I'm struggling with all of the rats and all of the meds. The difference being three of them with their baytril I can put into carriers and leave them there til all food/baytril has gone. At least with a book on top of the carriers now, the two young 'uns have...

Re: How to disguise meds

Hi Beri I'm having trouble with all of them. I can put three of them in separate carriers with a small amount of food with the baytril in it and they will eventually eat it. Squeak on the other hand, as soon as I put her in the carrier starts to wee and poo she is now getting so stressed, I am reall...

How to disguise meds

Hi guys, I know this has been commented on in other posts, but I'm running out of ideas. I've got 4 does, 1 about 22 months, 1 about 20 months and two 10 months. Squeak (22 months) is on dox and baytril, the others are on baytril only. Hopefully the baytril only girls will be coming off it in a few ...

Re: Who has had explorer/SRS trays made?

I ordered from sheet plastics too. Apparently they should be arriving tomorrow. I might have time to put them together on Wed pm, if not then they'll be waiting for me when I get back from my weekend away :D

Re: Who has had explorer/SRS trays made?

cool, hopefully they'll arrive soon. Having said that I'm not sure when I'll get the energy to do anything with them, just started a new job and for this week I'm working 8.30am to 7pm add on two and a half hours travel and that makes for a very long and tiring week. To top it off I'm also working 9...

Re: Who has had explorer/SRS trays made?

Getting the tape on smooth is not easy, I tell you! It's definitely a 2 person job, but by the 3rd one we had it down  Oh no. Now you tell me, after I've ordered said tape   How long did it take for your perspex to arrive? I know it was late on Saturday when I ordered it and it's now...

Re: Hibiscrub question

Please GOD don't use it to clean your womb.     It is the same stuff and yes it lasts for ages. What you'll find is that the hibiscrub in the bottom of the bottle eventually turns whitish, this is a build up of bacteria and indicates it is time to throw it out! Keep the ...

Re: Dobbie

Hugs to you both. All I can say really, is that it's the hardest decision in the world to make, but it's also the best one to make. It's the last thing that you can do for your little friend to make sure they don't suffer. I think it's the least we can do for them, considering how much pleasure they...
