Re: Discussions relating to Hantavirus *Poll Added 6th April

I am sorry if you felt I was getting at you - that wasn't my intent. No, don't worry I didn't, I'm not hypersensitive. I truly just don't understand - anyone that participated did so surely through a feeling/ sense of duty, would feel bad if they didn't get involved in an important piece of researc...

Re: Discussions relating to Hantavirus *Poll Added 6th April

What then about those who did face their fears of blood tests, cancel plans, swap work shifts, spend savings travelling etc.... Does the fact that they felt the need to do so, for the good of the fancy sway results and ethics of the tests? No one went because they love giving blood I'm sure ... Sure...

Hardly pressurising, I'm allowed to have an opinion. Which still stands.

Re: Discussions relating to Hantavirus *Poll Added 6th April

I think this is an unfair and judgemental comment to make. Some of us don't have Monday to Friday jobs and some of us don't have cars or endless funds to travel hundreds of miles to be tested. Some of us would really like to be tested but just don't have the means to the get to the sessions that ar...

Re: Discussions relating to Hantavirus *Poll Added 6th April

I am shocked at how few people appear to be making the effort to be tested - the HPA are coming to Halifax to do this for us, I'd love to know why people are choosing not to come. Surely as rat lovers, we need to prove the hypothesis that our pets are no risk to anyone, and for that we need quantity...

I wouldn't be too sure on this and would think carefully before taking any action.

Do also be careful that nothing else gets stuck (not that we once inadvertently glued a rat to a duvet ....)

Re: Put her down?

It is relatively simple to do the teeth yourself, I had a lad who needed his doing every ten days - sadly we lost him just before Christmas.

I would see the vet for advice ASAP as whatever happens, she clearly can not continue as she is now :(

Re: PLEASE HELP NOW! EMERGENCY

Wondering why this was posted at all? The OP had excuses to ignore all advice that was given, so why ask? We're you hoping people would say it was fine and he wouldn't be in pain so ignore it? Am also amazed that you can predict that there is nothing a vet could do. It is against the law to knowingl...

Re: Wild about Wildies

I love my wildies ;)

I find that they tend to love me even more than normal rats do, although some are shyer with strangers.

I also as of so far have found them super healthy ..

But the best bit is how agile they are and the fact that they can walk upside down on the ceiling:)
